snippet: To view, locate and track inspections of both City of Reno and privately owned detention and retention basins within the City of Reno limits. These stormwater basins play a critical role in reducing the rate and volume of water reaching storm drains, conveyance ditches, streets, and any adjacent low-lying areas. The City’s Public Works Department and Utility Services Department clean, repair, and inspect flood control infrastructure to ensure the existing storm drain system is working as designed to convey stormwater flows. Performing inspections on all public and private stormwater detention/retention basins in the region is part of the process. The creation of this feature class enables the Utility services department to track and symbolize basins based on priority and status of inspection.
